"The Blessed Birthday Girl" printed gift tags Hi everyone! I hope you all are having a great Friday! I wanted to let you know that I have added new items to my Etsy shop for purchase. "The Blessed Birthday Girl" gift tags are the first printed items that I have placed in my shop. They make great birthday gifts! "Little Kids Outdoors" hand drawn card "Little Kids Outdoors" 2-pack of cards  The "Little Kids Outdoors" 2-pack of cards are two small, hand drawn African-American cards. Hi everyone! It has been a while since I have done a post, but I am working on new cards that will be available for purchase. Hurricane Irene swept through our area and left down trees and power lines. But, I thank God for my life. I will continue to pray for those who lost loved ones and/or homes. Hey Ruthie's Greeting blog readers, You may remember the "Felt Bags"  blog post that I wrote a while ago. I was hired to create a birthday card for a woman's friend who loves fashion. I decided to use a felt flower with a brad. The Ruthie's Greetings Character's hair style was also based on the hair style of the recipient. She is also 3D. So, she stands out from the rest of the card.

"Mama's Present" handmade Christmas card Here is the  completed "Mama's Present" Ruthie's Greetings Character Card. It has the Matthew 2:11 verse at the bottom which says, "And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, ad worshipped him: and when they had opened there treasures, they presented unto him gifts;gold, and frankincense, and myrrh".  I really enjoyed  creating this card. It brings us back to the reason why we celebrate Christmas. Through the years, the Christmas holiday has become sooo commercial that many of us have forgotten why we celebrate it. I wrote a blog post, a few posts ago about how Christmas colors became Christmas Colors . The article cited in my post talks about red, green, yellow, silver/white. "Crawling Baby Girl" handmade baby shower card I was hired to create this card for a mommy who is entering Motherhood. I was orignally going to make the card white and pink. But my customer wanted brown & pink. I'm glad because I thought that the colors mixed well, together. If you have read  my blog, you know that I loveee to make button flowers. "Our Anniversary" (Omega Psi Phi fraternit Edition) Handmade Card I was hired to create this card for my customer's anniversary. She wanted to give the card to her boyfriend, who is a member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity. She requested purple and gold (the colors of his fraternity) to be the colors for the card. So, I thought it would be a good idea to include the Greek letters on the male characters t-shirt. I will be posting more of these cards customized with different fraternities & sororities.  "25th Birthday With Style" Handmade Birthday Card   This Ruthie's Greetings Character card was created for a friend. I thought it would be cute for a 25 year old. Her name is Tiffany, so I put her nickname on the woman's purse. Her favorite color is purple. I love to use buttons, so I included those on the flowers. I think they give the card a nice touch. What do you think?

"Pink Birthday Trio" Handmade Custom Card Pack These birthday cards were all created based on the recipients' pictures, provided by my customer. I really enjoyed creating these! The two cards on the right were created for twins. My customer wanted to be able to put the cards together to equal one picture. She wanted her friends to be able to frame the cards. She loved them!  "Birthday Flowers for Nana" handmade birthday card  I was hired to create this card for my customer's grandmother or "Nana". I thought about the "Mother's Day Rose" handmade card, and decided to use the same idea. The pink background has a raised ridge texture. The shirt does also. "Gift for You" Handmade Valentine's Day Card I also created this card this year. My customer wanted a playful, loving card that she could give to her boyfriend a.k.a "Stanky Doo" lol. I thought of this idea. The silver is actually a metallic silver. The inside message was also customized to fit him, from her. Let me know what you think! "Keep Praying, Grandma" handmade card This card design was created about 4 years ago when my grandmother Ruth was sick. I was getting ready to go to the hospital when she passed away. So, I hope that this can help someone else's loved one :-) Inside it reads: Keep believing in Him, and you will find the Healing within. Isaiah 53:5 says that 'By His stripes WE are healed''." -When I created this actual card, I had just become interested in using buttons on my cards. I love this design! "Winter Girl" Birthday Card Soon to be posted on http://www.ruthiesgreetings.com/ I know it's the summer time lol, but I wanted to highlight this card.  I created this card for a friend's birthday, and she loved it :-) I created this character about three years ago. I decided to finally make it into a card. I was going to use a computer font for the words, but I thought that script writing was the best fit. I will be working on more cards with the "Winter Girl" character. This card was a lot of fun to create. My customer wanted a blue "Missing You" card with a poem on the front. The poem talks about a song that reminds my customer of her love. So, I decided to have a Ruthie's Greetings style character wearing a t-shirt with his nickname spelled on the front and him holding a radio :-)
